Vintage Car Exhibit and Swap Meet
Clubs and Collectors Converge at Victory Days!
Every week we hear from more and more collectors and car clubs who plan to join the gathering at
Victory Days. Whether you represent one personally-owned vintage vehicle or you are with a group of like-minded collectors, we encourage you to attend and share your own memories and stories about these vintage vehicles.
Authentic Exhibit
Expect an exciting collection of pre-war / stock automobiles during Victory Days. This exhibit of vintage automobiles includes cars, trucks, vans, trailers, police cars, fire trucks, ambulances and more. The Sycamore A Model “A” Restorer’s Club of Terre Haute is hosting this one-of-a-kind living-history-museum on the field at Victory Days. Imagine pulling up to an authentic Gas Station where the attendant pumps the gas for you, checks the oil under the hood, and washes your windshield.
Perhaps you’ve heard the old saying, “They just don’t make ‘em like they used to?” Well, this very statement must have originated from the reputation of the Model “A” Ford automobile. Because of its sturdy construction and ease of repair, the Model A was able to continue to operate throughout the war in a variety of roles. They were pressed into service, not only as family cars, but also as pick-up trucks, taxis, heavy haulers, tractors and any other use imaginable…and they performed admirably. Prices for the Model “A” ranged from US $385 for a Roadster to $570 for the top-of-the-line Fordor. Typical fuel consumption was between 15 and 20 mpg
The Sycamore A Model “A” Restorer’s Club of Terre Haute plans to have over 80 Model “A” Fords, as
well as many other vintage cars, on display at Victory Days. This will provide an accurate representation of the cars that were being driven daily during the WWII period. This is also an opportunity for visitors to enjoy the fellowship of other vintage car owners and enthusiasts from around the U.S.
Packard was a United States-based brand of luxury automobile built by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan, and later by the Studebaker-Packard Corporation of South Bend, Indiana. The first Packard automobiles were produced in 1899 and the brand went off the market in 1958. Packard automobiles are highly sought after by collectors today, and the marque enjoys an active collector’s club system. Packard automobiles were advertised with the slogan "Ask the Man Who Owns One." While you’re at Victory Days, come and ask the men and women who own a Packard about their vintage autos.
Period clothing is strongly encouraged.
Awards will be made for best car/owner that represents the time period
All vehicles must be pre-war
Cars cannot be altered — Must be Stock |
